SistemaFormal designs architectural competitions with the help of VisualARQ

We recently spoke with Andrés Dejanon of SistemaFormal
about the process their architectural design studio follows when working on design competitions. Sistema formal has utilized VisualARQ
tools in several of their design competition proposals, including the National History Museum of Colombia in Bogota
, The City Hall of Bolivar, Colombia (Honorable Mention)
, and Children’s Schools and Garden Prototypes in Bogota, Colombia
The SistemaFormal team first utilizes VisualARQ’s dynamic sectioning tools
to study and validate certain spatial aspects they want to achieve in the design proposals. Additionally, the team used VisualARQ to generate efficient and precise documentation
to quickly meet all of the competition requirements. “With a traditional CAD method, the documentation process becomes cumbersome. We worked everything in Rhinoceros and Grasshopper
so we had one model through which we could use VisualARQ to extract all of the information we needed in a very fluid and efficient manner”, says Dejanon. Andrés is looking forward to making full use of the tools provided by VisualARQ in future projects and competitions.

SistemaFormal is a research and design studio formed by Andrés Dejanon, Diego Chavarro, and Julian Ardila dedicated to the development and construction of architectural projects in different scales. They develop their research and experience through the implementation of digital design tools and digital fabrication. SistemaFormal also acts as technical consultants for clients, aiding in rationalization of complex geometries, parameterizing project processes, and digital fabrication.
